Elders and Ministerial Servants
by R.F. inthose of you that are elders and ms on the fade, i want to know how you personally keep up the facade?
do you find it difficult to give meeting parts, comments, "setting the example" in the field ministry?
im a ms and when i give parts i do my best not to mention the "faithful and discreet slave".

Strange Talks
by AgentSmith inthe thread regarding how the ms and elders keeping up the facade while knowing its all wrong made me think of something.. this happened in the ministerial service meeting.
the ms started his part on the program but it was soon evident that he was not firing on all cylinders.
his speech was monotone, slurred even.

One of my elders meeting, they gave me a WT print out from the CDs which stated,"Internet apostate sites are like viewing poronography just don't do it! it was a big long list of why people should not view certain unworthy sites.
Afterwards, one of my elders gave a talk on how pronography flashes on his computer screen but he never opens them up!
He was such a strange and odd person, he kepts looking at all the womens breast!
One time at the meeting, he turned right around to get a eye full and looked right at my breast! and I had an old ladies sweater on.
The lady that was helping me thru my reinstatement, told him to take a picture!
The strangest thing, I went out to lunch with a girlfriend who was an exjw, she knew the person without naming the guy.
She had a really good laugh, and said that the guy had a big problem with breast and that was 30 years ago! He has not changed much!
I can laugh at it now but at the time I just shook my head!
It is like everything turned up side down,people who are getting reinstated has less problems then the elders! I am confused!

2 years this week
by geevee inwell, this week marks two years since i stopped going to meetings!!
my last book study, i got up and walked out becasue i disagreed with the conductor about the whole pedophile, child rape thing.
not the societies policies that harm victims!

I am waiting for the non trinty of the Catholic church to start here in the states,oh but they blew it by keeping Easter. Oh well!
Jesus and Jehovah chooses who the true christain really are out all nations and tongues. They will also choose the evil, apostasy, weeds, and antichrist.

.......about that 1 Corinthians 7:25,39
by why??? inok so at 1 corinthians.
7:25 paul says that what he writes about virgins "i have no command from the lord but i give my opinion" .he goes on to describe what he thinks virgins should do.
then in verse 39 he says "marry only in the lord" but there he's actually talking to widows after their husbands die!!!!

Hebrews were not allowed inter-mix with even other tribes because of the lots of land that each tribes were given, but they,probalby men, could marry a non Hebrew and bring them into the family. However, they were not to take women who believed in false gods and did not believe in the true God, YHWH. It really does sum up the entire O.T.
Back to Paul:
Paul knew what was going to happen to the new Christain sect. I believe he was preparing the people for the end of the system as they knew it. I believe some of the new Christains died for Christ and some turned back to temple gods, immoral acts, or was carried away with too much riches.
Pauls letter was written because of immoral acts and since I do not know how Corinthians letter were actually written perhaps 3 or 4. I can only imagine how hard it must have been for the Christains to figure out how they must act.
I believe that under the harsh circumstances Paul was kind to the brothers and sisters. If a person was in passion for his fiance then he could marry its not a sin. Does that sound like they went a little too far? I mean at the kingdom hall one would get disfellowshipped. :-) Sorry I had to bring that one up but it is true!
Many historical theologist are going over exactly what you asked,and they can not agree with some of Pauls letters.
Paul knew that preaching the gospel of Christ was the most important calling one could do, and to do that it would have been better to stay single,virgin. I want to point out that Paul could have been married yet at this time he could be a widow/divorced so he knew that it would be better to stay as a virgin or single. Paul knew that in the past, such people like some apostles could have been married and it could have cause them hardship with their wives.
As far as Moses he was getting direct guidance from God thru angels, unlike Arron or Mariam. I think he spared the two and did not kill them for questioning his prophet. Still you have a good question about Moses wife,hmm, I wondered if this was the same wife from his youth? I do not think there any proof that this wife was Sipora? I hope I got her name right!
MARRY IN THE LORD!
Most churches out their would prefer members to become yoked together with other members to spare division of faith, although we are all christains. There is a scripture to marry evenly yoked because christains should not marry non christians. I know some people raise their children into a diverse back ground,such as pagan and christains. Hmmm kind of hard to marry a pagan when that was the problem with the Hebrew nations, unless the pagan changes to christians. But then they could backslide after they marry you then your stuck! Oh well you would not be bound to an unbeliever! but that is if you were not a christain prior to marrying a pagan. Different scripture!
Here something you could think about, because I am sure many people on here has already considered this point, When did marriage certificates start? If two people have a party and declare their love for one another would that not be consider a marriage? I believe so, however the certificate was invented to legally protect women and their children. Oh well, it was fun!
Hmmm I do remember seeing a scripture stating to marry only in the Lord?

LOL I am worn out just typing all this stuff. I loved just reading Rev. just the way it is without anyone trying to tell me how and what it really means. Did I ever have time to introduce myself? oh well!
I wish I knew how to use this site like everyone else, but I guess with time I will figure out the codes above.

Going to speak to my parents about the 'Truth"
by ThomasCovenant ini am going to approach my parents (dad an elder) later this summer with my true feelings about the wt society.
i have the cd rom and a lot of society books (plus of course the off limits wonders of google) but i happen to have just one bound volume of the watchtower 1953. it's a real gem!.
i intend to bring this book to my meeting with them as they won't be able to say it's apostate.
